The owner of this early 80s BMW R65 is Sandy, who had bought the bike already partly customized: short clipons, modified rear frame, rear monoshock ... His idea was to have a bike he and his son could tinker with to realize their concept of Café Racer. But since the "ideas" pass, while problems remain, in the end they entrusted it to the expert hands of Ellaspede in Brisbane, Australia. As it often happens, it's difficult to lay hands on something already modified, so they started off new. They started by rebuilding the rear frame and by mounting a beautiful tight saddle upholstered in black vinyl and stitched in blue. At the rear subframe a Led brake light has been integrated. The rear end had a few problems with humps and bumps so the shock absorber has been modified by an expert who has made it safe and reliable. The front fender is the original one but trimmed down, whilst the rear is custom made. The wheels have been black powder-coated and fitted with a pair of big Bridgestone 130/80 tyres that give it a sporty and retro touch. The engine has been overhauled in all its parts, same goes for the Bing carbs which now mount foam cone filters. Wonderful the short exhaust terminals under the engine. The two-tone blue livery recalls the colors of '70s Martini Racing .Ellaspede's guys have done a great job. Without exaggerating, they managed to give this beautiful Café Racer, a sleek and elegant look.Sendy and his son? They enjoy the work, by riding their bike!Ellaspede Website Facebook
