We have seen all kind of BMW Cafe Racer: beautiful, ugly, vintage and futuristic ... what we present today is, according to us, one of the most beautiful Café Racer we have ever seen until now.The old air-cooled BMW R80 have always had their own charm. The big boxer and sinuous lines make of this bike a timeless legend. Two young boys of Munich in Germany, Tom Konecny (21 years old) and Pablo Steigleder (24 years old) have created the "Diamond Atelier" and this, believe it or not, it is their first built as customizers. Undoubtedly REMARKABLE!“We’re not building bikes to become rich and famous,” says Tom, “but to add something to the custom scene. “We’ve never raced around a track, but we know what looks good. And that’s what we’re trying to achieve.”Hardly anything from the old donor R80 RT 1992 remains: the front wheel spokes and disc brakes are from an R100 R connected, via flexible hoses in stainless steel, to a PSC-16 brake master cylinder and Brembo calipers. The front fork has been lowered three inches to improve stance, the throttle is connected to a Tomaselli quick-action throttle system. The headlight is a mix of Yamaha and Honda parts. What is most striking and eye-catching about this beautiful Café Racer are the perfect lines. The fuel tank has been lifted a couple of inches to align perfectly to the short rear subframe where a fiber glass tail cowl has been mounted and padded with industrial-grade caoutchouc. The rearsets are from Tarozzi and underneath the seat is a featherweight Porsche GT3 Cup car battery. The existing short cone exhausts are without silencer but have custom-made inserts to pass the strict German TÜV regulations. The delicate blue paint is not something you can find in Glasurit color guide: it's hand mixed to create this pale blue with black pinstriping ... what to say except that it's a wonderful contrast with all powder coated black finishes and that make this bike unique and extremely elegant. In front of such a work of art we remain speechless... we cannot help falling in love with it, no matter if performing or suitable for racing on a track ... for us it is just beautiful! We remind you that for Tom Konecny and Pablo Steigleder, of "Diamond Atelier", this is just the first one.. what a wonderful start!!Diamond Atelier is on ..Website Facebook
