There are custom bikes that have, in their lines, their manufacturer trademark. This is the case, for example, of this custom based on a BMW R80 RT 1982, cleverly transformed into a Street Scrambler from Shaun and Carl of Down&Out Café Racers.Completely disassembled, the frame has been powder coated and the rear frame rebuilt to host now a beautiful handmade leather saddle, baguette style. The tank has been replaced with a more retro one of a R75/5, 1975, with the classic knee pad, painted in the contrasting two-tone black and pearl white, divided by a thin orange line. The big Boxer has been completely revised, seals and new piston rings replaced providing now an excellent combustion thanks to the new Mikuni carbs. Also new, the stainless steel tailpipes and the short Smokey terminals. Many parts have been made by the D&O, such as the stainless steel mud fenders and the battery container in perforated aluminum, of normal size. The snowflake rims have been painted black and now have Scouts Heidenau tires, 100/90/19 in the front and 120/90/18 in the rear, excellent for both street and off-road use.At the front top, we find Renthal handlebars more suited to mixed routes, a LSL brake reservoir and a small Koso speedo. A beautiful steel D&O headlight, mini turn signals and rear light, all strictly LED, complete the whole. How can we not recognize a D&O: elegance, vintage, clean lines ... in short, a D&O BMW!Down & Out Café Racerswebsite facebook
